Muntly are made up of Moray, Huntly, Banff and Fraserburgh, bringing together a number of clubs with smaller squads.

U18 started the weekend rugby on Saturday as they put up an impressive score of 48 – 5. Half an hour before kick of the heavens opened and all players coaches and the grass took a soaking. Still raining at Kick off, Ellon took an early lead through Rory Main. An early scrum with the ball taken on the blind side, Rory picked up from a breakdown and drove over from 5m out. Daniel Gillies made the conversion for 7-0. It was 10 minutes of some good rugby from Muntly and great defence and clearing by Ellon, before Ellon ran through the phases, and a strong pick n go by Finlay Hagen, with a firm hand off, to score on the line with a big reach. Daniel Gillies made the second conversion for 14-0. Rory Main got a second try, in a similar fashion to the first, phase play and then a pick n go driving between two people. Daniel makes it 21-0 with a conversion.
It only took 30 seconds form the kick off for Muntly to make a couple passes and race for a wide try, conversion missed for 21-5. Just before half time Ellon got a 4th try through stand-off Josh Andrews. Receiving a ball from a break down, he pulled the defence to the left and ran right to the blind side to score. Half time 26-5.

As the second half kicked off, both teams cancelled each other out for 15 minutes before Josh Andrews got his second of the match. One of the new rules kicked in with a goal line drop out. Daniel Gillies received and ran hard, passing near the line wide for Josh to score. 31-5. 2 minutes later Josh scores his hat trick from the kick off, a strong return run, breakdown and passing to midfield for Josh to run in under the posts. Daniel converts for 38-5. Captain and man of the match Mason Moir scored next from an attempted clearing kick going short, Mason catching and returning under pressure to score. Final score went to Josh Andrew to make his forth! Pressure on the scrum led to a poor pass back and flankers pressurised to cause a turn over which was spun wide for Josh to score wide.

Final score was 48-5.
