With Gordonstoun unable to play, Ellon had the chance for a training game at Robert Gordons. Playing on the immaculate first team pitch, Ellon started well, competing at every level as both teams settled in. Josh Andrew drifted wide to the wing when close to the line, to receive the ball and drop over to score. However this was the turning point as RGC stepped up another level. Pressure from RGC was strong, 5 tries and 2 conversions later the half time score was 29-5.
RGC started well again the second half with 2 early scores. However Ellon took control for 5 minutes, resulting in a try for Ross Brown as he drove over to score from close range. 4 more tries to RGC and a conversion made the final score 63-10. Slick passing from the RGC backs, and the Ellon players stood off too much.
