Deeside P5 Tournament

Ellon P5 arrived at Deeside to a damp foggy morning.
We were drawn in our group with Deeside 2, Grammar and Garioch 2.

Our first game saw the Ellon P5 take on our hosts.The game produced end to end rugby with a game we were not used to.
It was evident that Deeside wanted to win their Tournament playing a mixed 1 and 2 side to combat Ellon.
With 6/7 on the pitch the Deeside guys were up for this game.
Ellon score first in what persued a "messy game" to Ellon standards. The ball being wet and a few decisions being favourable,Ellon found themselves under the cosh!!
The Ellon guys being 3-2 down with not long left dug in to come back 3-3.
40 seconds left Ellon applied great pressure something we have been working on throughout the tournament season.
With this, Deeside spilled the ball resulting in a breakaway try up the touchline. Try Ellon.

Game 2
Next up Grammar.
Now getting warmed up Ellon again scored first.Dominating the defence, Ellon stifled the Grammar team and began to play.
Tackling hard and putting pressure on,the squad shipped the ball again and again.Great breaks and continuity,Ellon P5 were victorious.

Game 3
Last up Ellon played Garioch in which the whole squad played most if the game.
This resulted in some outstanding individual performances pushing for places.Suberb rucking,hard tackling and great slight of hand Ellon started to gain pace.

Semi final:
Ellon P5 have now warmed up. A mixed team were in full flow,gone had the league games and into trophy mode.A superb performance against a good Garioch side from the other group we were to dominate again.Flowing rugby on all counts,

Final.

And so the "auld foe" Mackie.
Having played this team in recent weeks we quickly identified their strengths.Putting our superb tacklers against their big guys we nullified any attack they had.
Mackie could not contain the Ellon attack combined with our defensive pressure.With the Ellon P5 chasing yet another trophy the team were in "hyper mode"!

A fantastic day out with thanks to our hosts Deeside.Again the Ellon P5 play with immense team spirit.They are together as a team and enjoy the spoils to be had.
