Match Report Ellon v Gordonstoun 26/11/16

Ellon travelled up to Gordonstoun after a last minute change of location due to the Meadows pitches being frozen and called off.

Thanks to everyone for managing to reorganise times and travel at such short notice, it is much appreciated.

This was always going to be a tougher match than our previous encounter, but the Ellon lads were well up for the challenge. The
game started well with us holding our own against a well organised opposition. Unfortunately we were unable to break through to
score in the first half, with Gordonstoun 12 points up at half time. Our boys started off the second half in a much stronger and
determined mood. We battled hard and kept Gordonstoun at bay with our efforts paying off in the dying minutes of the game, Ellon
7, Gordonstoun 12 with the last play of the game to commence, nail biting stuff!! Gordonstoun managed to regain possession
quickly at the restart and broke through to score in the corner. Final score Ellon 7, Gordonstoun 19.

Our boys played really well and were unlucky not to turn it around in the second half. A few missed tackles and lack of speed in support being the only difference in the two teams.

Overall, well done boys and we will continue to grow as we learn from our mistakes.
