Ellon u13 V Deeside (AWAY)

Another great performance from the team today.

Deeside had a large squad for this game so we expected tough competition on their home ground.
The team didn't agree and showed it in their own rugby.

Again many tries but a big improvement on front foot defence. The work with the club senior coaches and players is having an immediate impact which is great to see. So a big thank-you to them for giving up their time to support the the youth teams coming through.

The game went to development at the end of the 2nd third as we reached the 50 point threshold. It was credit to Deeside that they wanted to play on and their determination was rewarded with getting a try in the final third. We still fought to keep points against as low as possible which was achieved by charging down the conversion.

This lead to the final score of a 71-5 away win.

As always there were great performances across the pitch. Given the way the game went player development became a key point. This had back's moving into the pack a #8 playing at scrum half as well as position swapping through the forwards and backs player sets.

In all cased the players showed their worth in each position.

Overall the captain of the day Euan Redpath was instrumental in the win, showing all the good in the team - being vocal, tackling, hard running and great finishing. For these reasons Euan is awarded POTM today.
