Ellon u13 v Aberdeen Wanderers (HOME)

Match Day saw Ellon host Aberdeen Wanderers at the Meadows for League game #3.

The game was played 12 a side in 3x15min. periods due to Wanderers coming with a squad of 12 (Scout Camps etc. getting in the way of a fuller team being available).

In pre-season Ellon had the handle on Wanderers, but expected improvement from the opposition this time out.
Taking nothing for granted Ellon started strongly as Pitchero scores indicated and continued throughout the match.

When a 50 point margin is achieved in a game it becomes a development match. So despite there being more scores for both sides after the score got to 62-10 the final score remained as is.

Through the whole game Ellon played well with the focus again being on getting the ball wide to get our wingers more involved.
This again improved on the previous week with the Quentin & Max axis making things happen.

Noah led the team as Captain for the third time with another stand out performance this time on the wing.
As is the routine for the squad after three games a new Captain will be selected.

Good performances were all around the pitch with the forwards stepping up from last week also.
This was led by Cameron who was vocal in the line and looked to drive forward at every opportunity.

It is due to this step up in communication on the pitch and during training he was todays POTM.

Well done Cameron and the rest of the team.

An away friendly at Deeside awaits the squad next week for another challenge they are sure to enjoy.
