Good team effort this week - the lads really concentrated on their structure in defence and it paid off. Dundee had a good attacking threat through their back line but the whole team worked hard to maintain their shape and get into the Dundee faces. Some good pressure for the whole match.

Both teams started off very evenly matched with it taking almost 20 mins before Seb went over for the first try. Seb had been threatening one of his great little sniping runs and it paid off almost half way into the first half. the first half continued to be tight with Jake saying we need to score before half time to settle everyone down (Team and Parents....) Sebs try was converted by Dede

Jakey and Logan came on about half way through the first half to tighten up our front row in the scrum - We started Will and Odhran to give us more potential front rowers and they did OK but Dundee had obviously been working on their scrum since last time so we reverted back to our regular front row to dominate them in the scrum again.

About 5 mins before HT, Ruairi got his first try which was also converted by Dede. This was well deserved by Ruairi as he'd be a real menace in the line out and was once again inspiring the lads to aggressively clear out the breakdown.

Something really clicked in this game and hopefully this is as a result of the training we have been working on to clear out any threat to the ball on our breakdown. There seemed to be Dundee bodies flying everywhere around the breakdown as our lads really started ensuring we let them know that no one is stealing our ball. All really did well at this and is a total U turn from what they did against RGU a couple of months ago....

Dundee went down a man at HT due to injury and we matched them to play fair.....

HT came and we mixed it up a little more with Angus coming on off the bench. He brought his usual aggressive defence into the back line and also made some great offloads in the tackle which helped get us going several times. Dede also started to try a few chip kicks which didn't pay off for us but good to see he was trying to mix it up. Dede also got mentioned by all coaches for the way he controlled the structure and kept us moving forward.

5 mins into the second half, Ruairi gets his 2nd try after the lads had applied a lot of pressure in the Dundee red zone. Initially getting close to the line through a dropped offload to Tyler which was a guaranteed try if it had gone to hand, the lads kept them pinned down there and Ruairi found himself in a perfect position on the line at the back of a breakdown for a strong finish. Try was converted by Dede

Dundee started struggling with injuries again and and lost another man around the time that Tyler got his first and the teams first ever yellow card..... This was for repeated team fouls so not entirely his fault but he goes down in the records as our first ever card...!!!

Final try came from Ruairi again with a Sam conversion. By this time Dundee were starting to drop their heads and you could since the lads starting to look for the additional points. Unfortunately, Dundee coaches called it with 10 mins to go and the match ended there. Our MOTM was Ruairi Anderson after disrupting loads of their lineouts and winning several also. Plus his aggression around the BD and his 3 tries it had to be him this week - well done Ruairi

We're a little challenged on numbers for this weekend v Muntley but we feel the lads will be fine if they continue to hold their structure and ensure they do not let anyone steal OUR BALL.....
