8 of our lads (4 per half) volunteered to go and support Muntley and they all put in a great effort to test our lads. Very good to see this level of sportsmanship and a strong trait that flows through all of the U16 team - they should be proud of this as it really captures the spirit of our awesome sport.

Tries in the first half from Hamish, Ras (2), Oisin, Tyler and Will ensured a strong score line at half time of 36-0. There was some good structure around the pitch and the lads tried to expand their attack off the pods through the forwards as practiced in training. At half time we swapped out the Ellon lads for another 4 lads to go and support the Muntley team.

Second half saw us concede a couple of tries from our lads that had gone across to the Muntley team to support them and is testament to how well they played for Muntley. That being said, the score continued to rack up for the U16's with tries from Sam (2), Logan, Will, Ras and Ciaran (2) to show a big score line but some caution as I write this as it was just a development game. There were times when the forwards (both attacking and defensively) became a little dis-jointed and we need to recognise this on the pitch so we work hard and regain control.

As ever, the whole team played well but we just need to ensure we continue to recognise our strength in playing as a team and not as individuals. As a slight warning for the lads - Where we got away with being isolated, disorganised or not offloading quickly enough in this match, we will likely be punished hard if we play like this against other teams.

This shouldn't be taken negatively as it was a good chance to try other stuff but as long as we recognise this together and continue to develop as a team then we'll do Ok in this league. Our backs certainly started to look better organised in this match and is another pat on the backs for them as they continue to deliver what is asked of them in training.

Finally, our man of the match went to Angus Caven. Angus has been out of action for a while now with injury but he came back with a bang in this match. Solid performance around the break down with some excellent dominant tackles and as ever, some silky handling skills to set up one of Ciaran's tries with an awesome offload.
