Ellon had a full squad of 22 players as team captain Jake Martin and Grant Drummond were back from injury and the U15s did not have a game. This was very much a team effort as the lads put the things that had been concentrated on in training into practise. Although the backs scored most of the tries this was usually down to good ball coming from a dominant pack. There were notable performances in the forwards from Sam Archibald who put in some thumping tackles and carried the ball well, along with Kieran O’Brien and Ruari Taylor who always supported well. Callum Addy ran the show in the backs, ably supported by Nathan Shirron and Aaron Bonner. A special mention must go to Ryan Grant and Ross Greig who played a half each for Garioch as they only had 14 players. Next week’s fixture is away to Mackie who have also won all their matches so far so will be tougher opposition.
