Second game of the day against the home team Percy Park

With hours before the SRU shut all rugby initially for two weeks, Ellon U16 played in a three way on tour near Newcastle, all games 35 minutes long.
Percy Park were up second after a strong win over Morpeth by Ellon.
Ellon again unlucky and played into the wind, but were determined to do well after the previous strong performance.
This showed as they came out well from the start. Percy clearly had a stronger team out this game and really gave Ellon a physical game.
Ellon were under instruction to use the backs more this game and offload as much as they could. They ran from deep and kept the ball moving, getting to the opposition 22. Lost the ball due to isolated runs, with not enough support to ruck over. A couple high tackles given and missed, led to Ellon attacking down the right, and being bundled into touch inches out.
Percy cleared but Ellon attached right. Pressure at line out lead to Ellon scrum and from this an attack by Mason Moir was stopped but Jamie Brooks went over. 0-5 to Ellon.
Teams exchanged attacks for a couple minutes, until Percy broke away and although chased back by Ross Davidson, try was awarded. 5-5. The game continued with the same close physical battle. A couple of tackles led to 2 Ellon players coming off injured and that gave Percy the advantage for the remainder of the game.
Josh Andrew gave a great kick, that from the attack the try was held up. Scrum and a couple phases Ellon went wide for a certain try. Percy player went for the interception and caught it! Running 80m, however he was chased back and tackled! Try was scored from the next breakdown to finish the game 10-5 to Percy!
A strong performance, but Ellon just needed 5 mins more to win the game. Plus a little more work on scoring tries on the line rather than being held up!

Man of the match went to Mason Moir for the forwards and Ross Davidson for the backs.
Overall man of the match across both games to Jamie Brooks.
