In a fixture that Muntly are always up for, Ellon came away the stronger. Last week in the same fixture Ellon were a little unfocused and lacklustre. Different this week as they took an early lead. A couple turn overs in a row and Ross brown snatched the ball. The defenced opened up and he ran in a 20 m try unopposed. Despite some strong attack, that was all for the first half. Second half started well, with Ellon getting a lineout 15 m out. A short throw and pop back led to Ross Stewart and Jamie Brooks interacting for a try for Ross. Daniel Gillies hit the post with the conversion.
Muntly came back quickly going from right wing to left wing and scoring wide. 10-5 to Ellon. Last minutes of the game and after two tries near the posts, Muntly stole the ball back from Ellon. A good rip from Captain for the day Josh Andrew, led to a kick through, and a knock on by Muntly, from the scrum, the backs went through a set move and Daniel Gillies dummied the Muntly centre to go under the posts. Kick missed and the final score was 15-5 to Ellon.
Man of the match went to Liam Park for his defensive effort.
