Ellon U16 played huge 32 minutes against Dunfermline in the Caledonia Bowl Semi Final. Scoring 8 converted tries in 32 minutes to end the game over a half early. When a score reaches 50 points difference the game is stopped and a development game carries on.
Dunfermline only came with 14 so Ellon matched numbers to make it fair. First 10 minutes Dunfermline managed to keep Ellon out, but some indiscipline let Ellon creep back with a score to Fraser Chalk, who played fantastic at outside centre. This was quickly followed up by Reese Telling, and then Ellon kept scoring through Chalk again, Finlay Hagen, Euan Bonner, Melling again, Jack Lambley, and Stevie Gray. Big mention to Ben Dickie who kicked all 8 conversion, on a windy day and a number from the side lines. At 32 minutes the game passed a 50 point difference and Ellon moved to the Bowl Final on 28th April at Perth against Kirkcaldy.
Man of the match could have gone to a number of players for huge efforts, but Tom Gray received the award for his work at the break down to secure ball for others to score.
