190922 U14s Deeside

There were positives as well as the negatives - so plenty for all of us to work on. A defeat is hard to take sometimes - but as long as everyone learns from it, it can be used as a positive and I look forward to the rematch to show Deeside/Garioch exactly what we are capable off, so much more than we demonstrated today.

Today’s players player was Oisin with the Coaches player of the day going to Gregor. As is the norm for these awards due to the stiff competition - both selections were tight with several names being in the running.

Anyway it’s onwards and upwards - let’s get everyone to training on Weds as we have plenty to work on. Also by way of a reminder to the kids following training yesterday I asked that they all use a tennis ball or similar to bounce it off a wall to work on the catching technique. The hand eye contact skill is key in a sport like rugby so practice always helps.....

One last point / thing that I would like to highlight which made me really proud. As Sam was making his way back to his lift, Andrew the SH for Garioch (who had to be taken off the pitch due to a head knock) was being supported by the Garioch coach on his way back to the car park - Sam without being asked went to the other side of Andrew and helped them to their car. Really great Sam, a touch of class
