Last weekend Ellon Rugby First XV were due to take on Deeside in Banchory for the Caledonia 2NE fixture. Ellon on form and looking for another 5 point win prepared well all week, but the weather Saturday stopped the game. Deeside pitches were too wet to play on. It is a shame as Ellon pitches were good and usually a fixture reverse could have happened, but the teams had already met at the Meadows.
With half term on also, there was no Youth fixtures in the Red Conference or any Junior games. Training continued by merging a few age bands.
This Saturday Ellon First XV travel to league leaders Banff in what will be a tough fixture. Banff came up into Caledonia 2 this season and have been well focused, using a great mix of experience and youth. Kick off is 15:00.
