The U18 started their game in average conditions, but the weather turned very quickly. Ellon were unable to make use of their backs, while Dumfries made the most of the better half of weather. Half time was a 3 – 12 score with James Evans scoring a decent penalty kick. The second half was not much better, but Dumfries fared better with another three tries to finish the game 3 – 33. There was an injury scare to man of the match Matthew Emmison who took a knock to his hand, but a precautionary x-ray showed just some bruising, although this didn’t stop Matthew from participating in the Caledonia U18 training session on the Sunday, as he pushes for a Scotland U18 Cap.
