Ellon P6 v Howe of Fife

Sunday 1st April saw Ellon P6 travel to Howe of Fife for a friendly.
With a warm morning the P6 squad got to play and warm up on Howe's 4G pitch.
A physically bigger squad than Ellon,Howe had 22 eager players with Ellon fielding 14.
To give everyone as much game time as possible all coaches decided on 10 a side.
3 games were to be played ,15 minutes each.
With the first game underway the Ellon squad seemed to enjoy the run of the 4G pitch scoring first.
Being 3-0 up the Ellon team sat back alittle in defence to let the rather large Howe boys in to score.Ellon were confident and with big tackles and excellent running lines they came out top.
Much of the same in the next game with Howe's mixture of size and pace,Ellon had to be strong in the tackle and quick in support.
Another win for Ellon.
The last game saw Howe put out their biggest,strongest team to get their own momentum back.
Ellon P6 let in a couple of try's early on but would not let go of their winning ways easily.
With great ball play on the floor,some exceptional tackling,running and continuity ,Ellon just lost out.

These games were great Development for our Ellon P6 and we thank Howe of Fife for their kind hospitality.
A very good test for Ellon with the Tournament season coming up.
