Ellon P6 Tournament

With little winter rugby,the Ellon P6 squad were eager for the first tournament of 2018.
2 teams played in our home tournament,Ellon Gold and Ellon Maroon.
As a Development team Ellon Gold were made up from players new to the game this season and players who are rapidly developing.
The Gold team were up for the task ahead of playing some opposition renowned for their attack.
Losing their first game to Aberdeen Grammar 4-0 the Ellon team were not disappointed.
They continued with a big ask against Mackie. Gusto and immense defence by Ellon Gold saw them down 1-0 at half time.
A fine second half could have gone either way with Mackie coming out winners 3-1.
With narrow losses to Garioch 3-0 and Deeside 4-1,this tournament showed that the Ellon squad are working well as a group.

Ellon Maroon took to the field,first up Garioch.
Training of late for both Ellon teams has been focused on the tackle and defence.Very strong tackling resulting in the turnover saw Ellon take the match 5-0.
Keeping their shape and concentration Ellon went on to be victorious against Grammar 6-0 ,Deeside 7-1 and Mackie 5-1.

Having beaten Mackie in the round robin Ellon P6 faced a different Mackie side.
Looking for the Trophy Mackie took the lead as Ellon dropped their defence.
With end to end rugby 1-1, 2-2, Ellon turned up the heat in the second half to win their tournament 4-2.
Scoring 27 tries and conceding only 4, Ellon Maroon showed great defensive efforts in the tackle and securing ball in the ruck.
With speedy delivery to our back line, tries were scored.
A great display by the Ellon P6 squad.
