P6 Madras

And so a new start for Ellon P6.
After an early start we arrived at Madras in good spirits.With a short warm up we took to the field for our first game against Watsonians.

Having beaten this team on a number of occasions in P5, Watson's were up for this game.
Ellon P6 could not handle the contest at the breakdown particularly in the ruck.
Watson's dominated the whole match in defence and attack with some good rugby.

Next up Kinross.
Ellon P6 got together themselves after the Watson's game and were left by the coaches as they wanted to discuss the game. This showed great leadership skills by the nominated captains.
Ellon took to the field and had woken up. With great rucking and clearing out the scrum halves shipped the ball outside and we scored in the corners.
Ellon had taken control of the game and with Kinross being larger in stature possessing hard runners,
Ellon held well with a convincing win.

After waiting 40 mins for 2 games to be played and with the squad fed, we played our last game against our hosts Madrascals.
Having watched this team earlier they had pacey runners and were good in the tackle.
Again Ellon P6 took control scoring 3 well worked early try's.
A bit of end to end from some Ellon missed tackles our all round game was encouraging.
We gathered steam to run out winners,

So the start of our season we were pleased with some of our game. Good to see the squad identify what we need to work on for the season to come, good effort all keep it up.
