Arriving at Dundee in the rain after the bus south, Ellon U16 found out it was a development game with Dundee short of a few players. Playing 10s to start with and then to 11 aside when a player turned up. Ellon just rolled subs the whole game, but found that the constant changes made it harder for the boys to focus. This led to Ellon giving spells of 10 minutes for the players. All with equal game time.
Not too much for the players to work on this week as it was hard for them with an unstructured game. Passing had improved between the half backs, plenty of kicking in the game, and the second half offloading from the ground was excellent with a couple of really good tries.
Ellon scored 12 tries and 6 conversions to win the game on the day 29 72.
Next up is three home games in a row, with Gordonstoun first, followed by Mackie and then Deeside to finish the conference. U16 unbeaten at home have set a target to remain so for the next three games.
