Youth clean sweep over Dundee, while seconds Dominate Caley 4 and Juniors have first festival of the season.

No game for Ellon First XV last weekend as they got a rest weekend in the League, but they sit 5th in the league, with a game in hand on half the teams. However with the Second XV up and running again this season, they had a rearranged game against Inverness Craig Dunain. With good numbers at the club, Ellon put out a strong team, backed with a few young players from the U18 squad, gaining experience at adult rugby. Ellon took the game with a strong 47-12 win and move to top of the table with a maximum 10 points.
The youth Lancer Conference also had a rest weekend, so the club played a cross conference fixture, supporting the developing clubs. Last week it was Dundee, where fixtures were played at U18, U15, U14 and U13. Ellon fielding teams that gave key players a rest, still dominated the tie, with all sides winning comfortably. U18 was 50-0, U15 was 46-29, U14 28-20 and U13 30-0.
Ellon tag teams at P2/3 went to Banff for some friendlies, while the P4-7 went to Edinburgh to play in Stewart Melville’s festival. All had great games and enjoyed the first friendlies of the season.
This weekend sees a super Saturday! With Youth back in Lancer Conference action and playing Saturday, they have fixtures against the private school Gordonstoun at home – U13 and U16 at 11:00 and U18 at 13:00. The U14 and U15 have already played their fixtures midweek a couple weeks ago. Both those were wins, so Ellon is looking to complete a full house. The First XV have a tough game against Dunfermline at home in the Caley Cup with a 15:00 KO. Nothing for the seconds.
So Saturday there are games at the meadows at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00. Come down and see some great action and support the local club
