Bears Win Buttercup

In what to prove to be a hot mid-summers day at Mackie Mammoths, the Bears came out winners of the annual Buttercup Trophy for the 1st time.

4 teams participated on the day with Brechin Bruce and Howe Knights also attending.

The 1st and 2nd games for the Bears were against Brechin Bruce and Howe Knights respectively, both ended with a comfortable victories. With the forwards defending well and the backs with too much pace.

The 3rd game was a winner takes all, with the 2 unbeaten teams facing each other, Ythan Bears v Mackie Mammoths. It was a close and physical game with the Bears coming out on top scoring 4 tries to 2 and securing the Buttercup Trophy.

Thank you to the Mammoths for organising a great day out for the Bears, we will look forwarded to defending the Buttercup next year!
