ELLON will look to their latest band of brothers to maintain their promotion push in National League Division 1 as they make the trek to Irvine tomorrow.

Head coach Mike Avis has called up winger Rory Yuill and he will join his brother David, who will play on the opposite wing.

The duo helped create history last season when Ellon became the first club to include three sets of brothers in their line-up in the 24-10 defeat at Garnock last January.

The Yuill's joined siblings Mark and Sam Ryan and Neil and Glen Douglas.

Avis is hoping Rory can emulate David’s start to the season. David scored a try in Ellon’s 37-17 victory against Murrayfield last week and the head coach wants more of the same.

He said: “Rory has been at the club for a long time and he has been impressing in training and for the seconds.

“He deserves his chance and hopefully he can do as well as David, who has done really well for us this season.

“There have been a few brothers at the club over the years and hopefully these two will be just as successful.”

Ellon will also include Steve Bucknall and Avis is looking for his side to pick up where it left off against Murrayfield last week.

Irvine are winless and bottom of the league but Avis does not want any complacency to creep in.

He said: “I have heard conflicting reports about Irvine.

“They have not had the results they would have wanted, but there could be reasons such as players missing.

“We will not take them for granted. I was very pleased with the attitude last week. Once we got ourselves in front we defended and broke very well. There has got to be a similar attitude this week. It is a long journey down there and the mindset has to be spot on. We need to target five points in this game.”
