Last Saturday Ellon Rugby played their last game of the season,

I'd like to thank Neil Scott and John Keith for their hard work both this season and for the past few years. Both are retiring from senior rugby and have made a big difference here at Ellon.
- Gareth Kemp, Director of Rugby

against a weakened Lochaber. Outcome was a 74 0 win for Ellon and they scored 12 tries, 2 penalties and 4 conversions. That is 165 points scored and 35 con-seeded in the last three games.
Against Lochaber, Ellon played 8 players who started the season in the U18 squad, with 6 starting. From the 21 players, 16 come through youth section. This is something Ellon Rugby are very proud of. Scorers for Ellon were Sean Whyte with a hatrick, Grant Drmmond, Ben Shirron with 2, Matthew Pearce 2, Arron Bonner, Adam Krasjuk, Rory Yule with two and Stewart Cruickshank 2 penalties and 4 conversions.
1st half Ellon tried to play too much rugby in wrong areas of pitch and force the offload, as well as trying to compete at every breakdown even though ball was not winnable. However Ellon still got good breaks and scored for a half time score of 25-0.

Second half Ellon stuck to the structure and defensive systems and ran hard which straightened their line up which helped create space, allowing Ellon to score more points. With a much improved lineout and a strong scrum, more tries came and the final score was 74 0.

Quote from director of rugby.
A great performance to finish the season. Our play has really come together as the season drew to a close. Since the Christmas break the introduction of the U18 has boosted the squad and raised the playing level. Taking nothing away from the older guys in the team who have been the stalwart of the squad.
I'd like to thank Neil Scott and John Keith for their hard work both this season and for the past few years. Both are retiring from senior rugby and have made a big difference here at Ellon.

Ellon should now finish 6 or 7 in the League, if Shetland beat Lochaber this weekend, it should be 6th, which would be fair.

Meanwhile the Junior section played in the Stirling Festival and performed admirable against some of the biggest clubs in the country, Ayr, Stirling, GHA.
U15 played a friendly against Garioch to run through moves and give everyone some game time before their Caledonia Shield Final this weekend. Ellon lost with a last minute try, having substituted a few players to rest for this weekends big game.

This Sunday Ellon U18 play in the Shield Final against Perthshire and the U15 play in the Plate Final against Dunfermline, while the Juniors play the Aberdeen Rugby Festival.
