The guys showed what an attacking force they can be

Ellon RFC demolished 12 man Shetland 101-7 at home on Saturday with the islanders travelling with a depleted squad.
Speaking after the match, First XV coach Sam Mountain was delighted with the performance of his players. He said: “In parts the guys showed what an attacking force they can be, but still fairly inaccurate at times which we hope to improve on as the season goes on. “Shetland started with 12 but you can only play whats in front of you. “Second row Ellis Swainston has had a great start to the season along with half Backs Calum and Ali Addy. “In a game like that everyone wants to score so its difficult, but the players stuck to the task and structure so everyone contributed well to that. “The result gives us some confidence but we are no mugs, we are well aware of the games that lie ahead in the coming weeks, we are focussed on training well and working hard in order to help us complete our aims.” Ellon next face Caledonia 3 North side Inverness Craig Dunain away in BT Caledonia Regional Bowl North away from home. Following that they will be away to Mackie Academy FP’s on Saturday, September 16, in a crucial league encounter. The Red Cloak side have also got off to a flyer this season winning both their games and scoring 140 points along the way. “We have ICD away in the bowl who will be a difficult prospect at home and will be bouyed by two wins at the start of their season.” Said Mountain. “The match against Mackie will be important , but there is plenty of rugby left in the season and our season isnt defined but one game.”
