Last weekend the games at the Meadows were affected by the weather.

Ellon First XV were expecting the visit of top of the table Dunfermline, and U18 were playing a friendly at Aberdeen Wanderers, but both were called off with the frost.
Ellon First XV still have four games left, 2 at home and 2 away, this season, but they will now be spread out due to the Six Nations starting this weekend. Ellon sit 5th at the moment, exactly half way in Caledonia 1. Realistically they shouldn’t finish lower than this with a game in hand and 7 points clear of the team below them. However they will be looking to overtake Grangemouth Stags in 4th place, who are 3 points in front. They will need to win 2 out of the last 4 games to have any chance in achieving this.
Caledonia Cup season is under way for the Youth. U18 have Deeside/Garioch combined this coming Saturday morning, U16 take on Granite City and Mackie in a three way in Aberdeen Sunday and U15 take on Highland at home. IF the weather holds out!
Last weekend the U15 beat Robert Gordons away 17-28. In a game that was 0-0 after 28 minutes! Both teams playing competitive rugby but just cancelling each other out. Second half saw Ellon extend a lead and RGC catch up before Ellon took an 11 point lead to win the game. A special win for tight head prop Jamie Brooks who scored and beat his class mates at RGC!
Six Nations rugby starts Friday evening with Wales V France. However Scotland V Italy is at 14:15 KO on Saturday. This year’s Six Nations should be the most competitive in a long time as all Home Nations teams have strong squads as they build for the World Cup in Japan this summer.
